"Learning to breastfeed has had its challenges. Shandelle has been an amazing support and has helped me troubleshoot issues with latching. Although we’ve been unable to meet in person because of the pandemic, she was still able to assess the problem by phone and text and make recommendations. Shandelle is a great communicator and makes things very easy to understand, and I’m so grateful for her help! "
As a lactation counselor (breastfeeding counselor) I provide people with support when they are having difficulties breastfeeding or chestfeeding their baby. I have received specialized training in understanding lactation and counseling skills and work with people in all sorts of different circumstances.
I can help you overcome problems in the early days of parenting that may enable you to continue breastfeeding for as long as you wish to. As a lactation counselor, I will not judge or pressure you to continue breastfeeding if you determine that you want to stop.
I will also be available for telephone or email support, especially for the follow-up period after we have initially met and identified any potential problems. I will not make decisions for you, or speak for you because this is your breastfeeding experience, your baby, your life, you get to decide what is best for you!
Every family deserves the best breastfeeding/chestfeeding experience possible, but it does not always come easily and naturally for some families.
My goal is to give you breastfeeding support to get to the root of the issue and work with you to find the best solution for your family. Through effective communication, a comprehensive history and hands on support, my goal is to give you breastfeeding tips and help you feel more comfortable and your experience what you hope for.
