"New parents need to be mothered, to be nurtured and cared for by a support network that assists with physical recovery from birth, transition into infant care and the immense psychological leap into a new role." - Lauren Porter
The first few days, weeks and months after bringing a baby home can exciting, happy, but overwhelming and challenging at the same time, even for an experienced parent and family.
As an experienced postpartum doula, who has many years experience with singletons, twins and multiples, I will help you during your most vulnerable time - bringing a new baby (or babies) home. We will work together to come up with a postpartum support plan that suits your family dynamic and we can change and adapt as your needs change. My goal is to provide you with exceptional support, with a tender approach, to make you feel more confident and less worried and stressed, by helping you with your physical and emotional recovery after bringing a baby home.
All Postpartum Doula services include 1 consultation before baby is born to determine your family’s needs. We are also available for phone and text support when we are away from your home. If you require overnight postpartum support, you are able to sleep why Alyssa takes care of your baby and home. She can bring baby to you to feed or bottle feed baby while you are sleeping.
Postpartum Doulas provide unconditional and nonjudgmental emotional support, feeding support (help with latch, positions, and education), accompany to outings if needed.
Assistance with care, information and education on diapering, soothing strategies, baby care so parents can sleep, shower, or care for other children.
Meal prep, light housework, laundry, caring for other children, assistance with using and cleaning pumps, milk storage, any task you need to make the transition to new baby easier.

"When we met (Shandelle) for the first time, I had a list of goals, including breastfeeding, and I needed an extra pair of hands to try and get through the week after my husband went back to work. Shandelle was quick to figure out what we needed to bring our stressful and chaotic house back into a home and soon became a favorite part of my week. When I felt overwhelmed and lost as a first time mother, she listened to my fears and brought me the right information to help me make decisions that were right for me and my family. From 6 weeks to 5 months I became a more confident mother, was breastfeeding my baby, and able to not just get through the day but enjoy it too. No one prepared me for how difficult the postpartum period can be and Shandelle is a shining light. She is incredibly patient, passionate about caring for families and goes above and beyond. "
